As China’s first listed automotive safety system supplier, Songyuan Safety has always taken "safeguarding life in mobility" as its mission. It focuses on the integration of active and passive automotive safety technologies, builds a full-scenario safety product ecosystem covering seat belts, airbags, intelligent steering wheels, and other products, and serves dozens of mainstream automakers worldwide.

The newly commissioned Malaysia base is a major initiative for Songyuan to implement its global strategy and meet the needs of the ASEAN market. With a total investment of over 30 million yuan, it covers an area of 6,000 square meters. In the first phase, 7 intelligent production lines have been introduced, with a designed annual capacity of 300,000 sets of seat belts, airbags, and steering wheels, and an annual output value of nearly 100 million yuan.

The factory adopts an intelligent management system to realize full-process production traceability and green operations. Additional investments will be made in the future to enhance local production capacity. In his speech, Hu Chanming, Chairman of Songyuan Safety, emphasized: "The Malaysia base is not only a milestone for Songyuan to move from 'Made in China' to 'Global Manufacturing' but also an important platform for us to deepen technological cooperation and serve the Southeast Asian market."

The project actively responds to the Malaysian government’s local content requirements. Through local procurement of components, talent localization, and supply chain collaboration, the local content rate has exceeded 40%, complying with the ASEAN Rules of Origin (RVC ≥ 40%). Currently, more than 90% of the base’s employees are local Malaysian talents, and their professional capabilities have been enhanced through multiple training trips to China. After commissioning, the base will create over 100 local jobs and drive the coordinated development of the upstream and downstream industrial chains.

Wang Huaibin, Chief Procurement Officer of Proton, highly recognized Songyuan’s contribution to localization in his speech. He pointed out: "Songyuan’s commissioning will strengthen the resilience of Proton’s supply chain and help Malaysia become a regional automotive manufacturing hub." Mr. Eishi Sato, Managing Director of Kayaku Malaysia, promised to fully ensure Songyuan’s supply and jointly promote industrial upgrading.

Qian Weiming, Head of Songyuan Malaysia, stated that the factory focuses on "intelligent manufacturing." In the future, it will gradually introduce upstream component production lines and continue to invest in technological R&D to provide higher-quality safety solutions for global customers. It will also work with local governments and enterprises to promote the coordinated development of the regional economy and the automotive industry.

Chairman Hu Chanming and CEO Hu Kaina kicked off the base’s commissioning with the traditional lion dance eye-dotting ceremony, which symbolizes auspiciousness and prosperity, and jointly completed the ribbon-cutting with a group of guests. Subsequently, the attendees visited the intelligent production lines and highly praised Songyuan’s independently developed real-time quality monitoring system, flexible production processes, and low-carbon operation model, describing it as "setting an intelligent benchmark for the regional automotive supply chain."
